Lil’ Voyagers Learning Academy (Lil’ Voyagers) has a mission to provide quality education in a safe and nurturing environment. The VPK first opened its doors in Miramar, Florida, in 2004. When business owner and director Trisha Cornelius relocated to Duval County, she decided to reopen the learning center. This decision was motivated by Trisha’s joy and satisfaction of uplifting children.

Like many businesses, the COVID-19 Pandemic negatively affected Lil’ Voyagers’ operations. They had to take on additional expenses to ensure their staff and students were safe. The unforeseen expenses forced them to pause their expansion efforts due to the lack of working capital. These challenges did not deter business owner Trisha from continuing her efforts to grow and expose more children to a great early education experience.

After meeting a member of BBIF’s team at a networking event, Trisha shared her expansion vision. Working alongside BBIF’s team, Lil Voyagers Learning Academy received a micro-loan. With these funds, Lil Voyagers Learning Academy has expanded its reach, serving both Duval and St. Johns County. Trisha’s passion and resilience allowed Lil Voyagers to transition from being an in-home daycare center to operating in two brick-and-mortar locations!

“If you are looking for an institution dedicated to helping small businesses, putting the customers first, and operating at the highest level of professionalism and integrity, BBIF is the place.” – Trisha Cornelius, Owner,  Lil Voyagers Academy
